The church is a term for the body of Christ. The church is not just a building, although we meet in a building. We, children of God, born-again believers in Christ are the church. And our group of believers mission is to reach people in our city with the gospel of Jesus Christ and disciple believers. So where do you the one reading this actually fit in this picture? The apostle Paul compared the church to a body, it has many different parts but somehow God makes it all work in symphony to accomplish His goals. You and I fit in this picture with our spiritual gifts that God has given to us as believers. We fit in best as Christians by getting our hands into the work of ministering to the teens and the adults that attend our church, we fit in best as Christians by moving our feet towards helping our Senior Pastor and Youth Pastor with planning and executing events for the body of Christ every month, and we fit in best as Christians by God moving our hearts to pray for those that come through our doors every Friday night and Sunday night. Our church is a growing ministry with endless opportunities of help and service to your other brothers and sisters in Christ. Here are a couple of suggestions how you can practically help your church this week:
- Offer your prayer- this week take time to pray for as many people as you can remember that come to church with you. Pray that God works in the hearts of those that come every week.
- Offer your participation- this week give your part in helping with the daily grind of the church, this goes such a long way in encouraging your Pastors and leaders. If you have a free hand use it to help vacuum or to gather and take out trash after discipleship is over.
- Offer your precious time- a great way to help in the church is by offering your word of encouragement to your Pastors this week by taking your precious time and sending them an email or a text and letting them know you are praying for them and their families!
I pray that you can join in helping the body of Christ this week because we as Christians are the Church.
